Snorkeling and Scuba Diving : Entrance Page
|
|
We offers Guided Shore Snorkeling, Discover Scuba Diving, Open Water dives!

When we first saw the huge, five to six feet Tarpons, numbering ten to fifteen at one time, we were astonished at how little
they noticed us. Alec began to call them "his Tarpons",
and begged us to go diving to see them again. Once under the water he would seek them out under the overhang of Armchair
Reef, and then enjoy swimming right into their school to see how fast they scattered.

They were more bothered just to be disturbed than anything, and simply moved slowly away from him. Their silvery bodies
reflect the ambient sunlight, and even as large as they were, they were non-threatening. Docile, we have never even
witnessed them feeding (except of course at The Wharf Restaurant, where nightly feeding takes place at 9 o'clock).

For most visitors that is the only encounter they will have with "Alec's Tarpons", but out on Archair Reef, in our backyard,
Alec visits them eagerly.
